A Part Time Home Run Business

On a part time basis working 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, following the detail of the operations manual it is reasonable to estimate that in very short order a franchisee would be earning circa £1500. If that same workflow was maintained for months, on an ongoing basis it would also be reasonable to estimate that the income could grow to £2000 - £2500 per month after 10 – 15 issues.

A Full Time Home Run Business

On a full time basis however, working 8 hours a day, 5 days per week, again following the detail of the operations manual, it would be more than reasonable to estimate  £2-£2500 earnings per month in the short term. Again if the work flow was maintained an income of £3-£3500 per month could easily be achieved.

The amount of income achievable is directly related to the amount of work committed to and the period of time over which that work is entered into. This is by no means a get rich quick scheme, however as with any start up, the work required at the beginning is greater than that going forward. Our franchisees have seen large percentages of first time advertisers become repeat advertisers (circa 60%) allowing them to either quickly achieve and maintain a moderate income or rapidly grow their business, aim towards and achieving a significant monthly income.

Cautionary Note.
As we have been in operation for over 18 years it is fair to say we have significant insight into the business and the best ways to achieve favourable returns, however to be completely fair and above board any potential franchisee must be aware that;
Past performance of a franchise business is no guarnetee to the performance in the future of the same or similar franchise under the same or alternative stuardship.
The income generated from a franchise, can go down as well as up.
Risk can be brought about by the performance of world economies, interest rates, taxes etc, which may require greater work flow and commitment in order to redress the balance. 

How Much Does a Gazette Franchise Cost?

The Gazette Franchise is a total investment of £3496 which breaks down into an initial investment of £874 followed by 3 quarterly interest free payments of £874. (Ex. VAT)

What does the Franchisee fee include?

Choosing Areas

A Gazette Franchise can be started anywhere in the UK and can cover a town or city area such as the Romsey Gazette or the Andover Gazette or a number of villages like the Test Valley Gazette.

The Areas covered by the Gazette should not be less than 5000 households and should not exceed 10,000 households in general.

In some areas there may be newspapers or similar that use the name ‘Gazette’ in which case we advise franchisees to use an agreed alternative such as the Salisbury Local, a Gazette publication.

Prime Areas

Any area adjacent to an existing Gazette is classed as a prime area for the obvious reason that there will be a high percentage of cross advertisers from the existing Gazette into the new one. This will help the new Gazette off to a flying start.

Research

It is always wise to research your chosen area to identify similar ventures and competition. If there are any existing community magazines in your chosen area how big are they, how many housholds do they cover and how often are they distributed? Do have web advertising services in their offer and most importantly how much do they sell their advertising for? If you think a Gazette would be better, bigger and cheaper for advertisers then we would (after our own research) accept your area for Gazette Publication.

Easy start is our unique way of becoming a franchise owner with Gazette Publishing.
In these difficult economic times money is sometimes unavailable.

You may want to start your local Gazette but not have all the necessary funds available and be unable to raise a loan.

With ‘Easy Start’ you can start earning additional income and paying towards your franchise at the same time. We provide you with an area to sell advertising into an existing Gazette Publication. For each advert sold we pay you 50% commission but split the commission 10% cash, 40% Franchise Payment.

So for every £100 of advertising sold you would receive £10 but £40 would be deducted from the deposit required to buy a franchise. Once you have sold £2185 of advertising your deposit is paid! (ie. £2185 x 40% = £874) You would then become the owner of your own Gazette Franchise and start selling advertisng into it. You would pay 3 interest free payments of  £874 per quarter to clear the balance.
